April has a bunch of new things on the way to Disney Plus! With spring finally here, we’re happy to see the addition of both older and new titles to the streaming service’s library. From additions like Earth Mood that promise to be a visual and audio escape to the new sports dramedy Big Shot, we’ve got the round up of April 2021 additions of new movies and shows right here for you.
Ewoks, Ewoks Everywhere
So… there is a lot of Ewok related content being added to Disney Plus. If you’re a cuddly Star Wars lover, April 2 is truly your day. Star Wars: Ewoks is being added (both seasons!) which is an animated series that aired in the mid-80s. But I think one Ewok piece of media that stands out from the lot is Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. The 1985 film follows Wicket and a group of characters that team up with the Ewoks to get back a stolen power supply.
Big Shot
With the first episode set to drop on April 16, Big shot is a sports dramedy starring John Stamos as a hot-headed basketball coach. Not much has been released on the plot, but we do know it follows Stamos’ character as he is fired from his college team and winds up coaching basketball at an all girl’s private high school. The cast includes Yvette Nicole Brown (known for Community) and Jessalyn Gilsig (known for Vikings and Nip/Tuck).
Night at the Museum
Night at the Museum (as well as it’s sequel Battle of the Smithsonian) is making its way to Disney Plus on April 2. Night at the Museum follows a night security guard in his new role at the Museum of Natural History. He has to deal with the fact that pretty much everything comes to life at night in the museum all thanks to, you guessed it, a curse! The cast alone makes this one a great watch (come on, who doesn’t love Robin Williams and Rami Malek?).
DuckTales – Season 3
The third season of DuckTales will land at the end of the month on April 30. To keep it as spoiler-free as possible, the third season follows the DuckTales crew as they come across the journal of explorer Isabella Finch, who has left behind a list of treasures. An international expedition is undertaken by the crew throughout the season. Fans of the show should know, this is the last season! With a total of 75 episodes, the reboot of the fan favorite show comes to an end with a 90-minute special at the end of season 3.
