Disneyland Opening Day 1955, Life Magazine
July 17th, 1955 marks Disneyland’s opening day, so today we’re taking a moment to shout “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DISNEYLAND!” from the rooftops. With the park’s reopening put on hold for now, celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the Happiest Place on Earth have moved to digital. Luckily there is still tons of fun to be had!
Thanks to The Walt Disney Family Museum, an all-day commemoration of the anniversary can be shared by fans across the world. The museum is hosting an all-day digital party on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube that is promised to be “full of surprises.” From conversations with voice over artists and producing partners Bill Rogers and Camille Dixon to trivia and archive footage of the park’s opening day, we’re excited to enjoy a slice of Disneyland from our couch!
We can’t wait for the 4:45 pm session, which promises to host a special guest appearance…who could it be?!
