Disney Genie+ Crashes on Launch Day at Disneyland

About

Disney Genie+ launched at Disneyland Resort today — and none of our wishes were granted.

The new Disney Genie+ service (described as the next iteration of MaxPass, or “paid FastPass,” as many fans are calling it) debuted at the California Disney theme parks on Wednesday. And while the demand was high for this hyped-up service, it seemed like the Disneyland app couldn’t take the heat. It wasn’t long before the Disney Genie+ service crashed, making all Lightning Lane selections unavailable for hours. At the time of this article’s posting, Genie+ is still not working!

Guest Relations issued refunds through Disney gift cards and even allowed guests to use the Lightning Lane on any eligible attractions, but many were left frustrated  — our team included. Hopefully, the service is back up and running ASAP and tomorrow we’ll get to truly put Genie+ to the test.
