Disney Genie+ Is Coming to Disneyland: Lightning Lane Updates in the Park

About

Disney Parks around the world have been rolling out new, reimagined (and paid!) FastPass systems, and Disneyland Resort is next. Earlier this month, Walt Disney World Resort launched Disney Genie, a complimentary trip planning service within the My Disney Experience app, and Disney Genie+ with Lightning Lane, the new paid iteration of what was previously known as the Disney FastPass+ service. Disney Genie+ costs $15 per person, per day at Walt Disney World, and you can click here to read all about our thoughts on it.

Although the service hasn’t yet launched on the Disneyland app, we know it’s coming soon to the California theme parks. So far, Disney has said Disney Genie+ with Lightning Lane will launch in fall 2021 at Disneyland Resort, so we’ll share more details when they’re released.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be among the many attractions included in the $20 per person, per day cost of Disney Genie+, the reimagined system that replaced FASTPASS/MaxPass at Disneyland Resort. For $20 per day, guests can get access to the Lightning Lane for a variety of attractions in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks. A few other attractions (Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and WEB-SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure) will offer Lightning Lane access at an additional charge.
