It’s Perfecting the Magic’s news roundup, the rootinest, tootinest updates in the wild, wild west!
Okay, Discrew. This week’s Disney updates aren’t only about Toy Story (and we’re sorry if that song is stuck in your head now!). But we have some pretty big news that we’re so excited to share with our fellow Disney fans. Keep reading for a huge announcement for Toy Story Land, how to get a replica Lightsaber delivered straight to your door, and some scoop on the Disney events we know you’ll love.
Yeehaw! More Fun is Coming to Andy’s Backyard
We really led into this one, didn’t we? Well, we can’t help that we’re excited for more fun to come to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Disney Parks Blog just announced a new shop called Jessie’s Trading Post, which will be the land’s first merchandise store. As the story goes, Jessie’s Trading Post playset was tucked away in the attic at Andy’s house, and now, Andy is bringing it downstairs to set up a shop full of toys and souvenirs that have been “handpicked by the rootinest, tootinest cowgirl.” Can we get a yeehaw?
We also got confirmation that the new Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be opening in Andy’s backyard in 2022. Disney shares, “Here, the rodeo will be in full swing, with western town and train station playsets mixing with surprising, playful details, like some fan-favorite Pixar characters as they’ve never been seen before!” We’ve known that this restaurant was planned for Toy Story Land for quite some time, so it’s great to hear that it will open sometime this year.
The theme park welcomed a whole new land for kids and kids at heart when Toy Story Land opened a few years back, and we’re thrilled that the expanded offerings will allow families to spend more time here. We’ll share more information when Disney announces the official opening dates for the shop and restaurant. Until then, we’ll be riding Slinky Dog Dash in anticipation!

Disney Events are Selling Out! What Tickets are Still Available?
Remember those Disney events we’ve been talking about? We have another update for you!
At this time, all event dates for Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite and Star Wars Nite have sold out, so if you were lucky enough to snag tickets, we hope you have a blast! We do have some good news, though. Tickets for Villains Nite — to be hosted at Disney California Adventure, sort of like a scaled-down version of Oogie Boogie Bash — are still available for March 8 and March 10. So, if you want to attend this after-hours event at DCA, click here to grab a spot!
And we can’t forget about D23 Expo! The largest Disney fan event is returning in 2022, and tickets are now on sale. As of Friday, January 21, General Admission tickets for the September 9-11 event in Anaheim are available — just remember that you have to be a D23 member to purchase. Some tickets have sold out so far (ahem, like the nearly $1K preferred seating pass), but if you want to attend the convention for at least one day, you still can. Find all the details on the official site.
There is still no word on any upcoming after-hours events at Walt Disney World, but we’ll keep you posted if anything is announced!
