Is an ‘Encanto’ Ride Coming Soon to the Disney Parks?

About

Is Disney building an “Encanto” ride? Not yet, but Lin-Manuel Miranda is getting our hopes up.

In a new interview with TheWrap, Miranda, the songwriter and musical genius behind Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” shared that he has already pitched a ride inspired by the movie to Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

I talked to him and said, ‘I know there’s a world in which this casita lives in a theme park and we get to actually walk through it in real life,’” Miranda shared.

Miranda said that he’s envisioned a ride similar to the “Little Mermaid” attraction that would take guests through all of the rooms of the casita, and the house and Madrigal family would interact with guests along the way. Whether this ride could come to Disneyland or a future Colombia pavilion at EPCOT is TBD, but hey, a Disney fan can dream, right?

The CEO recently referred to “Encanto” as the company’s newest franchise, so although a new theme park ride (or even a Broadway musical, sequel film, or animated series) isn’t confirmed yet, we’re certainly excited for all the possibilities to come.
