The weather is heating up, and nothing makes us think of our favorite animated snowman more than…”SUMMERRRR!” We took on the challenge of perfecting Olaf’s Frozen Lemonade – a recipe inspired by his iconic picnic scene during “In Summer.”
The results were a tart, tangy, and incredibly refreshing summer drink that’s the perfect mid-afternoon pick me up. This one will please the adults and kids alike and is definitely worth melting for.
All the ingredients you’ll need
olaf’s frozen lemonade recipe:
-
1 1/4 cups of sugar
-
1 cup of water
-
3 large lemons
-
3 Meyer lemons (sub regular lemons)
-
1 1/2 cup raspberries
-
1 1/2 cups watermelon
-
4 cups of ice
Instructions:
-
Add the sugar and 1 cups water to a medium saucepan & bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
-
While the sugar water is cooling, juice the lemons. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
-
Combine the lemon juice, raspberries, watermelon & sugar water into a blender. Fill the blender to top with ice. Add more ice until desired consistency is reached.
-
Serve in a glass of your choice and garnish with a lemon wheel.
The finished product
We spiked ours with a champagne floater for an alcoholic version (at happy hour of course!)
Now sit back and enjoy Olaf’s Frozen Lemonade, preferably while sitting in the sun! We popped on the Frozen soundtrack while sipping on it.
