Looking for inspiration for your next Disney date? Your Disney besties at Perfecting the Magic have got you. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, love is in the air, but Disneyland is the perfect date night location no matter the occasion. Here are some of our favorite Disneyland date night ideas for Valentine’s Day or a romantic evening at the park.

Lounging at Magic Key Terrace

Disneyland Date Nite Valentine's Day at the Magic Key Terrace

Are you looking for good drinks, sweeping views, and immaculate vibes? Magic Key Terrace is where it’s at. We’d recommend this spot any day of the week, but especially for a Disneyland date night.

If you are a Magic Keyholder (an Annual Passholder), try visiting Magic Key Terrace, the exclusive open-air lounge in Disney California Adventure. This oasis on the second floor of the Wine Country Trattoria restaurant offers a relaxing reprieve from the hustle of the theme park, with sweeping views of Pacific Wharf, Pixar Pier, and even Avengers Campus and Cars Land. Order some appetizers and signature cocktails and go to sunset for that romantic, golden-hour glow to make the evening feel even more special.

Fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge

For a Disney date with an intergalactic twist, head to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The atmosphere of Black Spire Outpost doesn’t always give off the romantic feeling we’re looking for on a typical Disneyland date night, but if you want something a little different this Valentine’s Day, head over to Batuu in the evening. Grab a fun beverage like blue milk from the milk stand, a Tatooine Sunset from Ronto Roasters, or a Cold Brew Black Caf from Docking Bay 7 and watch the fireworks (or should we say, Spire-works) from Batuu!

You’ll get some epic views of the Disneyland fireworks in a completely different setting — just without the show music! — and you can even take some fantastic photos with your space bae by your side. Bonus points if you caption your Insta post Han and Leia style. (“I love you”/” I know”)

Fine Dining at Napa Rose

Our team at Perfecting the Magic loves embracing Disney luxury whenever possible, so we have to recommend Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for your next romantic dinner spot. This is by far one of our favorite places to eat on Disney property, and whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or you’re just looking for a good Disneyland date night restaurant (#TreatYourself), you have to try this one out. Everything on the menu is exquisite, but we recommend chatting with your server about their favorite seasonal options.

If you’re looking for table service dining in the parks, try Carthay Circle in California Adventure or Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Reservations are hard to come by if you’re checking last minute, so try booking the night before after 9 p.m. to see if anyone canceled or join the mobile walk-up waitlist in the Disneyland app, if possible.

Drinks at Trader Sam’s

Great drinks, great food, great theming. Suppose you want a more casual feel for your Disneyland date night. In that case, you can’t go wrong with a night of fun at Trader Sam’s. Like Napa Rose at the Grand Californian, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is located at one of the hotels on the property — the Disneyland Hotel, specifically! — so you don’t need a theme park reservation to visit. If you can’t get a reservation in advance, arrive early and put your name on the waitlist, then chill at Downtown Disney while you wait for your table to be ready.

Embrace the Ambiance

The atmosphere at Disneyland Resort is romantic in itself. No matter where you go on the property — whether you’re strolling Buena Vista Street with a beverage in hand or spinning in a teacup in Fantasyland — you can embrace the romance, wonder, and overall ambiance of the parks. If you’re looking for fun and adventure or a laid-back, relaxing evening, your perfect Disney date night awaits. Sometimes, the best memories are the ones we don’t plan.
