What to Know About Park Hopping at Disney World

Okay, Discrew. Here’s the sitch. Park Hopping at Disney is totally different nowadays, compared to before the pandemic. If you’re heading to Walt Disney World anytime soon, there are some Park Hopping rules you need to know before you go.

In order to Park Hop, you have to have both a Park Hopper ticket (or an Annual Pass) and a valid theme park reservation. Park Hopping at Disney World starts every day at 2 p.m., but you must first scan into the theme park you have a reservation for before you can head to another park.

Even though Park Hopping starts at 2 p.m. each day, we don’t actually recommend starting at that time. In our experience, Park Hopping right at 2 can feel like rope dropping all over again. But if you wait until 3 p.m. to start Park Hopping, you’ll be golden.

Finally, be sure to check the theme park hours before planning your day. Some parks, like Disney’s Animal Kingdom, close earlier than others. If you want to make the most of your day, we recommend ending it at a park with late-night hours, like Magic Kingdom!
