Your September Disney Plus Watchlist is Here | What’s new on Disney+ This Month

Ready your watchlist, we’ve got the scoop on what’s coming to Disney Plus in September! A heap of new content is coming to Disney+ this month, and let’s face it – we’re ready for all the binge-watch sessions. We’ve rounded up the complete list of movies and shows making its way to the streaming service and hand-picked a few that are instant “add to queue” worthy selections!

Tuesday, September 1st: Cinderella (2015)

Kicking off the live-action remake-appaloosa that has overtaken the Disney theatrical roster, 2015’s Cinderella finally makes its way to the streaming service in September. Lily James does a remarkable job of making us fall in love with Cinderella all over again and pulls off the blue ballgown of our fairytale dreams. The film delivers a new look into the evil stepmother’s inner psyche and, of course, finds its way to a blissfully happy ending.

Friday, September 4th: Mulan

We couldn’t be more excited about the September Disney Plus addition of Mulan! Foregoing a full-on theatrical release, Mulan marks our first taste at Premier Access on the service. A one-time purchase of $30 buys you unlimited streaming and downloading rights to the film (as long as your Disney+ subscription is active.) If you’re ready to kick off your Mulan watch party check out our guide on how to host the perfect evening!

The Wolverine

Disney flexes its gritty, dark side with the addition of 2013’s The Wolverine. Hugh Jackman shows us precisely how tough it is to be Wolverine in this hard-hitting action flick. Xmen fans will find the tone a refreshing change of pace from the 2000s films, but casual popcorn munchers may be turned off. Enjoy the watch, but know what you’re getting into. If nothing else, you can marvel at Hugh Jackman’s abs.

Earth To Ned

If 2020 has you feeling down, Earth to Ned might just be the joy sparking television series the galaxy needs. Cooked up by the Jim Henson Company geniuses, this late-night talk show style series is hosted by Ned, the alien commander, and his comrade Cornelius. Broadcast “live” from the bridge of their spaceship, Ned interviews celebrities like a zany outer-worldly Jimmy Falon. The trailer alone is packed with laughs! All 10 episodes drop on the 4th.

Friday, September 25th: Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Many legions of Disney fans have been missing the parks so much they’d likely watch a 24-hour long livestream hosted by the Disney ducks. Instead take a virtual tour of the Animal Kingdom. Narrated by Josh Gad (otherwise known as Olaf) the National Geographic special gives us a backstage peak into the inner workings of park. We’re ready to meet some new animal friends!
