Just launched this week on Disney Plus is a brand new love letter to the art of Walt Disney Animation Studios, Zenimation. The refreshing, surprising, and incredibly artistic series is a breath of much needed fresh air for the collective universe. What’s so special about Zenimation

At first glance you might think that you’re signing up for a strange, fantastical experience a la Fantasia. Instead, Zenimation is closer to being the film’s ultra zen, yoga retreat loving little brother. Imagine the vibes of calming clips from Disney classics like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin mixed with the modern brilliance of Moana and Frozen. Then overlay these scenes with a relaxing ambient soundtrack and chill ambient effects set to match the environment. That’s Zenimation

In addition to the classics, the series also weaves in scenes from long-forgotten films from the archives like Meet the RobinsonsAtlantis, Treasure Planet, and the underrated like Big Hero 6.

Each episode focuses on a specific theme – some obvious like “Water” and “Cityscapes,” others more surprising and higher concept like “Discovery.” You can catch all 10 episodes of the series streaming now on Disney Plus.

All in all, Zenimation proves to be a transportive and meditative experience. The series created and edited by David Bess is just what we needed amidst a stressful set of world circumstances. Now get streaming and let the relaxation begin!
