It’s no secret that the holidays are a big deal for Disney Parks! While the season might not get as much fanfare as Christmas, Halloween at Disney is just as magical! To prepare for the festivities, Disney spends hours decorating and makes significant changes to many attractions for our enjoyment!

To help you navigate Halloween in the parks, Perfecting the Magic tested everything the season had to offer in order to give fans a taste of the Halloween side of Disney attractions and share whether they’re worth their wait times.

Let’s get into it!

THE HAUNTED MANSION SHOULDN’T BE MISSED

The Haunted Mansion, a fan favorite, is particularly busy during the spooky season. This attraction undergoes a weeks-long process to become rethemed every year to include Jack Skellington and his The Nightmare Before Christmas crew.

Even if you love The Haunted Mansion throughout the year, this overlay is an absolute must for Disney fans! With updates and improvements, Haunted Mansion Holiday is better than ever.

The 50-minute wait is well worth it, we promise!

CONSIDER SKIPPING SPACE MOUNTAIN

Space Mountain, typically rethemed during the Halloween season into a ghost-filled galaxy, didn’t receive a theming this year and might be worth skipping if you’re looking for Halloween experiences during your park day!

MATER’S GRAVEYARD JAMBOOREE IS A HIT

Though this attraction doesn’t compare to the overlay at The Haunted Mansion, it’s still fun! The Mater attraction transforms into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree during the Halloween season, and with just a 10-minute wait, the ride is worth your time. Offering a quick dose of spooky silliness, this attraction can be overlooked and shouldn’t be skipped!

LUIGI’S ROLLICKIN’ ROADSTERS – Opening March 7, 2016, at Disney California Adventure park, this all-new attraction at Casa Della Tires in Cars Land features miniature Italian roadsters (Luigi’s cousins) moving to upbeat music as they perform the traditional dances of their hometown village. Guests are able to ride along with Luigi’s cousins as they glide and spin. Each dancing car has its own high-spirited personality and signature dance moves so guests enjoy a different ride experience depending on which car they board. (Paul Hiffmeyer/Disneyland Resort)

LUIGI’S ROLLICKIN’ ROADSTERS OFFERS SEASONAL FUN

Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween is just as much as fun as Mater’s Graveyard Jamboree, even if the music isn’t quite as good.

Luigi’s shop offers the Halloween spirit in spades, complete with pumpkins made from tires! Don’t forget to stick around for evening in Cars Land, too! If you’ve never experienced it, you’re in for a treat. We believe the park truly shines as soon as the sun goes down!

WE CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: MISSION BREAKOUT

We never tire of this ride, even after having ridden it a million times! Guardians of the Galaxy switches over to Monsters After Dark after 3 pm during the Halloween season, and we can’t get enough!

Unlike the other attractions at the Disneyland and California Adventure parks, this one borders on creepy! The Guardians ride is perfect for anyone looking for a blend of monsters and a heavy metal soundtrack! We recommend waiting until dark to get on this ride, as it ups the scare factor!
